Fit

A soft guide for knowing your shape — because this garment is meant to fit you, exactly as you are.

Overbust — Measure around your chest above your bust, across the upper chest and under your arms. This is where a strapless neckline would sit, so leave some room under your armpits.

Bust Measure around the fullest part of your chest, parallel to the floor, keeping the tape comfortably snug but not tight.

Underbust — Measure directly under your bust, parallel to the floor, where the bust meets the ribcage.

Waist — Measure around your natural waist, where your body creases when you bend side to side. Breathe naturally and measure snugly but gently — this is the anchor point of your corset.

High Hip — Measure around the top of your hip bones, where your abdomen protrudes most.

Waist to High Hip — From your natural waist, measure straight down to your high hip — not following the curve of your body.

Full Hip — Measure around the fullest part of your bottom

Center Bust to Waist — Measure vertically from the point between your breasts down to your natural waist, following the curve of your torso.

Side Torso Length — Measure the curved distance from the overbust line (where a strapless neckline would sit), down to your natural waist on the side of your body.

Tips for Measuring

  • It helps to wear thin, snug clothing or just your undergarments.

  • Stand straight and breathe naturally, don’t suck in — this garment is meant to meet you exactly where you are.

  • If possible, ask a friend to help.

  • Use a soft measuring tape, and keep it level and snug but not digging in.

Not sure if you’re measuring it right?

No worries at all. If you like, you’re very welcome to send me photos of how you’re holding the tape or where you’re measuring. I’m happy to take a look and make sure everything lines up just right before I begin drafting your corset.

This process is collaborative, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way.
