Returns & Exchanges
Fae Skin pieces are made in small quantities, often from reclaimed textiles, and some are made specifically for the person who commissions them.
Please read the information below before ordering. Each type of Fae Skin piece has different conditions depending on how it comes into existence.
If you are uncertain about fit, measurements, textile or construction, contact the atelier before placing your order. I am always happy to answer a question before a garment is purchased.
A NOTE BEFORE ORDERING
Fae Skin pieces are not mass-produced garments.
Recovered pieces are individually photographed and listed with their measurements, textile information and relevant fit notes. Please read these carefully before ordering and contact the atelier if you are uncertain about whether a particular piece will work for you.
For a one-of-a-kind garment, a little time spent checking measurements before purchase can save both of us the considerable cost and handling involved in an international return.
If you are unsure, ask before ordering.
THE RECOVERED
Can I return a Recovered piece?
Yes.
Recovered pieces are finished, ready-to-wear garments. If you purchase one online and change your mind, you may exercise your statutory right of withdrawal within 14 days of receiving the garment, subject to the applicable consumer rules.
The garment should be returned in its original condition, with tags attached where applicable, and should only have been handled as necessary to assess its nature, characteristics and fit.
Please contact the atelier before sending your return so I can provide the return instructions.
Please do not wear, wash, alter, perfume or otherwise use the corset before returning it.
If the garment has been handled beyond what is reasonably necessary and this results in a loss of value, I may be entitled to deduct the corresponding amount from your refund.
Who pays for a return?
Return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.
This means that if you decide to return a Recovered piece because it is not the right choice for you, you arrange and pay for its return to the atelier.
Please use a tracked shipping service for valuable garments. The garment remains your responsibility until it has arrived safely at the atelier.
Once a valid return has been received, the original standard delivery cost will be refunded in accordance with applicable consumer law. If you selected a more expensive delivery option, only the cost of the standard delivery method will be refunded.
THE RECONSTRUCTED & UNWRITTEN
Can I return a Reconstructed or Unwritten piece?
Reconstructed and Unwritten pieces are made to your measurements and/or specifications and are therefore personalised garments.
As a result, the statutory right of withdrawal may not apply to these pieces.
Before work begins, I will confirm the details of your order and the measurements or specifications required.
Once production has begun, cancellations are generally not possible.
If you are unsure about a commission before placing your order, please contact me first. It is much easier to resolve questions before the making begins.
What if I change my mind about a custom piece?
Once a personalised garment has entered the making process, I cannot generally accept cancellation simply because you have changed your mind.
A custom garment involves dedicated materials, pattern development, cutting and making time that cannot necessarily be recovered or resold.
Before work begins, I will confirm the agreed design, measurements and other relevant specifications with you.
Please take this opportunity to raise any questions or concerns before production begins.
If you are unsure whether a particular idea, measurement or design decision is right for you, ask. It is much easier to make an adjustment before the garment is cut than afterwards.
SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH MY ORDER
What if my garment arrives damaged or faulty?
Please contact the atelier as soon as possible at atelier@faeskin.com, with your order number and photographs of the issue.
I will assess the problem and work with you on the appropriate remedy.
If a garment is defective or does not conform to what you ordered, your statutory consumer rights apply. These rights cannot be excluded by this returns policy.
What if I ordered the wrong size?
For a Recovered piece, please check the measurements listed on the individual product page carefully before ordering.
If the garment does not fit as expected, contact me before wearing it further. I can advise whether an alteration may be possible, although alterations are not guaranteed and may incur a cost.
For Reconstructed and Unwritten pieces, measurements are discussed before the garment is made.
