"The light in the Blue District is never quite straight; it bends around the corners of the old stone as if searching for a way out. We build our armor the same way—strong, but honest about the hands that held it."
STRUCTURE
Shell: A mosaic of reclaimed vintage qipao fabrics; a composition of indigo and cerulean silk-synthetics with woven floral motifs.
Lining: Faced in a deep midnight synthetic satin for a smooth, cool-to-the-touch interior.
Detailing: Scalloped cream lace trim at the top edge.
Internal: 18-panel architectural layout with sew-through synthetic boning for a seamless finish; designed with flared hips for an emphasized, painterly curve.
Lacing: Iridescent aqua organza ribbon lacing, trailing into a soft tail in the back. Cream coloured, narrow satin ribbon in the front.
Maker's Note: The grommets on this piece were spaced by hand and are slightly irregular in their alignment. This does not affect the structural integrity, but it is a visible part of this piece's history as an archive study.
