Recovered in several sections from a small textile shop in the Spicer's Quarter. The fabrics do not appear to originate from the same bolt or period. Their exact sequence of acquisition is unknown.

SHELL
Mosaic of reclaimed vintage qipao fabrics in indigo and cerulean, with woven floral motifs. Era 1990s-2010s.

LINING
Deep midnight satin.

STRUCTURE
18-panel construction with internal boning. The flared hip panels create a pronounced curve through the lower torso.

DETAILING
Scalloped cream lace trim at the upper edge.

LACING
Iridescent aqua organza ribbon at the back, finished with a trailing length. Cream satin ribbon at the front.

The Spicer's Quarter

The Spicer's Quarter occupies one of the older commercial districts of the City. Its smaller textile shops are known for keeping bolts, remnants, trims, and finished garments in close quarters, with materials often changing hands without formal records.

Azure Fragment was assembled from several lengths of blue textile acquired within the Quarter. The fabrics differ in colour, pattern, and surface, with no two sections matching exactly. Their individual histories have not been established.

The plain champagne ribbon is the only quiet decision in the whole piece.
